Wakefield Trinity chief Chris Chester makes claim about injured stars

Wakefield Trinity chief Chris Chester has claimed that all of his inured players will have to earn their place back in the team's squad. Jordan Crowther, George King, Chris Green and David Fifita may all return for Friday’s derby at Castleford Tigers but Chester says no player will simply be handed a place in the 17. Wakefield secured their first win of the season with a solid display in an 18-8 win against Warrington Wolves last weekend. “We have got people like Jordy Crowther, George King, Chris Green and maybe Dave Fifita back for this week,” Chester said. “But, if people want to get into this side then they have got to try and knock people out of the 17. There are no guarantees for anybody in this squad. “We have got some really good competition. That goes for our top players all the way down. If you consistently play well, you keep your spot. “And that is the good thing that came out of Sunday’s game, it will make it very difficult for me to do anything. “Those 17 guys played very, very well and deserve another crack on Friday night.” He also added: “We were obviously disappointed with the performance against Hull KR and had been waiting to get out on the pitch.
“We proved a few people wrong. We know it is only one game but we are one from two.
“We have just got to make sure that we back it up this Friday against Cas.” Source- Wakefield Express
