Further update on Cardiff’s new signing Emiliano Sala’s plane disappearance with chances of survival ‘slim’

Fears are growing for the life of Cardiff City’s new £15million signing Emiliano Sala after the plane he was on vanished over the English Channel last night. The plane was travelling from Nantes to Cardiff when it went off the radar. He had only been announced as a new signing for the Premier League Club on Saturday and had tweeted about his excitement. https://twitter.com/EmilianoSala1/status/1086702314650521600 Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman said: ‘We are very concerned by the latest news that a light aircraft lost contact over the Channel last night. "We are awaiting confirmation before we can say anything further. We are very concerned for the safety of Emiliano Sala." Another of Sala’s former clubs, US Orleans, has tweeted their best wishes for the striker and the pilot, both of whom are still missing. "Sad news this morning, all our thoughts go to the relatives of @EmilianoSala1 and to the relatives of the pilot," the club’s official account tweeted. Local police yesterday confirmed that the search for the plane carrying Cardiff City record signing Emiliano Sala has been suspended until Wednesday morning, local police have confirmed, with chances for survival "slim" for the Argentine. Today, his former teammate Diego Rolan claimed the player had communicated with a group of friends from the aircraft. Speaking to Radio 1010AM of Uruguay, he said: "Emiliano sent a message to some friends from the flight and said he was very scared by the plane, that if they did not find him they already knew what had happened, what he predicted was what happened." The 28-year-old Sala had spent the previous hours saying farewell to teammates at the French city’s soccer team after Cardiff signed him for a club-record fee last week. Sala completed a 15 million move to Cardiff from Ligue 1 side Nantes on Saturday and had travelled back to France to bid farewell to his former team-mates.
