Unai Emery criticized for his decision to name Stephan Lichtsteiner against Manchester City

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has questioned Unai Emery’s team selection for the club’s 3-1 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. The Citizens reduced the gap at the top of the Premier League to two points for 24 hours at least as Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick helped them to a 3-1 win over Arsenal. Stephan Lichtsteiner started at right-back and really struggled throughout the whole game, while Sead Kolasinac was played on the left of midfield with the head coach once again electing not to name Mesut Ozil in his starting XI. Ian Wright has criticized Unai Emery’s decision as he believes Mesut Ozil should have started instead of Lichtsteiner at right-back. "Why should Arsenal fans be optimistic? Because they’ve got a manager who’s not afraid to make decisions," he told 5Live. "He’s making a decision at the moment with a star player he’s not playing. "He played Sead Kolasinac on the left side of midfield instead of the highest-paid player in the history of our club and the most talented player. "That’s a worry because you need chances, you need creativity. "Aaron Ramsey’s always going to come on and put in a good shift. Maybe I would have liked to see him play, and Ozil. "I’d like to see Ozil if that’s the case. "I don’t think we should go up to Manchester City and just try the best we can with a makeshift midfield. The right back, you know what I mean. Why didn’t he put Mustafi at right back?" Emery now has a big decision to make over who starts at right-back at Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
