UCL: Manchester City V Shakhtar Donetsk: Preview and Possible Starting XI

UEFA Champions League 2018/19: Matchday 6
  • Venue: Etihad
  • Date: Wednesday, 07 November
  • Kick-off time: 9 PM
Manchester City will be looking to strengthen their grip on the top spot in-group F when they host Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League tonight. Pep Guardiola's side have recovered from a faltering start in the competition to win three of their four games and a win at the Etihad could secure their qualification to the knockout stages. Despite winning 3-0 at Shakhtar two weeks ago, City manager Pep Guardiola says he is treating Wednesday’s clash at the Etihad Stadium as a final. Ilkay Gundogan and Nicolas Otamendi are included in City’s squad. Kevin De Bryune and Eliaquim Mangala are the only squad players unavailable. Fonseca could decide to hand a recall to Taison with the Brazilian having been introduced from the bench against Dynamo Kiev on Saturday. Viktor Kovalenko is also a likely starter having netted the winning goal shortly after being sent on by his manager. Possible Line Ups:
  • Manchester City: Ederson; Danilo, Stones, Kompany, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Delph; Mahrez, D.Silva, Sterling; Jesus
  • Shakhtar Donetsk: Pyatov; Matvyenko, Krivtsov, Rakitskiy, Ismaily; Stepanenko, Maycon; Taison, Kovalenko, Fernando; Moraes
Betting & Match Odds Manchester City are priced at odds of winning 1.102 according to VBet, while a draw is available at 11.10. A win for Shakhtar Donetsk are priced at 21.00. Click here to see all of VBet’s offers for the game, including goalscoring markets, correct score predictions and more.
