Two players who could join Newcastle United after Wilson and Fraser transfers

Newcastle United have signed AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson for £20m on a four-year deal. Wilson turned down Aston Villa and flew from the south coast to Tyneside in Mike Ashley's private helicopter to complete the deal. Wilson became the third-highest transfer fee paid by Newcastle for a player, behind Joelinton (£40m from Hoffenheim in 2019) and Miguel Almiron (£21m from Atlanta United in 2019). Ryan Fraser also joined the club, as he opted to walk away from the Cherries on June 30 when his deal expired. But Newcastle could sign two more players. Norwich full-back Jamal Lewis will be next if he completes a medical on Tuesday. Lewis is currently on international duty. A £15m fee has reportedly been agreed with Norwich for the 22-year-old. Newcastle fancy a new central defender but a move for the Arsenal player Rob Holding could be unwilling to depart. The arrival of Gabriel Magalhaes, coupled with William Saliba's long-awaited return from Saint-Etienne, is likely to limit Holding's opportunities this term. A swoop for Holding depends on whether the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Calum Chambers stay or go.
