Premier League clubs spend big money to bring in star players but sometimes the players don’t become influencers.
Moreover, most of them finding their place in the line for substitution.
BBC Sport football writer and broadcaster Daniel Storey has provided a table showing the transfer fee cost of the ten most used players by each Premier League club this season.
Arsenal spent £248m for the 10 most used players, Chelsea spent £325m, Liverpool £316m, Manchester United £343m, Manchester City £429m, while Tottenham spent only £161m.
“Fees of Newcastle's ten most used players is £38m, which is outrageous,” explained Storey. “Manchester United have wasted money on mediocrity. Warnock and Hughton being under pressure indicate the 'victim of their own success' principle. Leicester have had a weird season.”
