Tottenham reportedly turned down Barcelona's request for Harry Kane last summer, according to Mundo Deportivo. The club chairman Daniel Levy told the La Liga side to pay an enormous fee.
Barcelona are in the market for a new striker as a replacement for 33-year-old Luis Suarez. They see Kane as the ideal replacement.
They are even said to have approached last year but were knocked back by the high price tag. The Catalan giants are not expected to return to north London to do their shopping in the next transfer window.
Instead, Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez is top of Barcelona's transfer wishlist and they may be able to land him on the cheap. Meanwhile, Kane has admitted his future could lie away from White Hart Lane if Jose Mourinho does not bring immediate success.
