Tottenham handed another major blow ahead of Manchester United clash

Tottenham have been dealt a blow ahead of the Premier League restart. Japhet Tanganga ruled out of Friday's visit of Manchester United with a back injury. The 21-year-old is thought to have suffered a stress fracture, although he has been able to work individually at Hotspur Way and will continue to be assessed. The academy graduate has featured in every matchday squad since his debut against Liverpool in January, starting ten games in total. He has played six games in the Premier League so far, making 2.8 tackles per game, averaging 1.8 interceptions and completing a staggering 4.8 clearances per game on average. His absence put pressure on Spurs to secure Jan Vertonghen to a short-term deal until the end of the season. Spurs have until June 23 to tie down the 33-year-old. Source: Standard
