TOP 5 free agents Tottenham could sign this summer

Tottenham could end up in financial crises due to coronavirus pandemic. Spurs are expected to continue talks with their first-team squad over a possible wage cut later this month. The Lillywhites will miss out on more than £4 million as a result of the NFL opting against staging games in London this year. Their new stadium is also scheduled to be hosting two Guns N' Roses concerts at the end of this month in addition to a Lady Gaga show on July 30, while Anthony Joshua's heavyweight title fight against Kubrat Pulev on June 20 has already been postponed. Combined with the loss of football matchday revenue as a result of matches being played behind closed doors, Joe Mourinho's side strengthening themselves for a difficult period. According to ESPN, an annual fund of around £25m was ringfenced for transfers. But this budget is very low and therefore, Tottenham would struggle to sign stars. Instead, they will likely have to revert to free transfers and swap deals. Here are top five players who will become free agents in the summer and could sign for Tottenham. Thomas Meunier, PSG L'Equipe last month reported, that Spurs have intensified their negotiations with the Belgian, whose contract expires in the summer. The 28-year-old right-back joined Paris Saint-Germain from Club Brugge for a reported £6.3million fee in 2016 and has made 128 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, claiming 13 goals and 21 assists. However, Meunier started just 14 games in Ligue 1 this term. Reports have suggested, that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has told Meunier that he wants him at Spurs next season. Kurzawa's deal with PSG ends in the summer and he could be available for free. Back in 2018, Tottenham ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino was interested in the left-back, however, he remained at PSG. This season Kurzawa made 14 appearances for Ligue 1 champions, scored once and created one assist. Edinson Cavani, PSG Paris Saint-Germain could find it hard to keep their star players at the club as Cavani is another player, whose deal with the club ends in June. The prolific striker made 14 appearances for PSG, scored four goals and assisted twice. The player could bring experience to Tottenham. In the January transfer window, he stated his desire to leave the club and Spurs have been linked with a move for him. It has been reported that Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the 32-year-old. Despite his age, Mertens has still been in a great form for Napoli and he could bring mobility to the Spurs' squad. This season so far, Mertens has made 25 appearances for Napoli scored six goals and created five assists. Willian, Chelsea Willian wants to leave Chelsea in the summer when his contract ends with the club. The Brazilain has admitted, he wouldn't mind joining a rival side and if it is true, then he could be a perfect addition to Jose Mourinho's squad. The Brazilian knows Premier League by heart, he also has a good relationship with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, who signed him for Chelsea. Willian is "on his way to Tottenham", according to well-known pundit Richard Keys. "He's another one that has already spoken to Jose Mourinho, he's on his way to Tottenham," Keys said on BeIN Sports.
