Tottenham Hotspur have made an incredible start to the 2020/21 season, sitting top of the Premier League table after ten games.
Head coach Jose Mousinho will be satisfied by the performances of his team, who have emerged as potential title contenders, however, that hasn’t erased the gossip columns when it comes to the prospect of further new recruits.
Here is the list of players, who have been linked with a move to Spurs since the summer transfer window shut.
10. Christian Eriksen

The former Spurs playmaker has been tipped to return to the club, only a year on from his move to Inter Milan.
The 28-year-old has struggled to find regular playing time under Antonio Conte at the San Siro, who doesn’t appear to need a player with the Dane's skill set in his 3-4-3 system, and often turns to others from the bench when in need of game-changing interventions.

9. Milan Skriniar

Tottenham were heavily linked with signing the Inter Milan centre-half over the summer, and were reportedly in talks. But a deal couldn’t be struck.
Speculation has since re-emerged that Tottenham could go back for Skriniar in January, with
The Athletic claiming they’d be open to doing a transfer if a well-priced deal or loan could be agreed upon.
But, Spurs subsequently went and bolstered Mourinho’s defensive options with Joe Rodon from Swansea.
8. Marcel Sabitzer

The RB Leipzig star. who was outstanding against Spurs with two goals in the Champions League last season, is reported to have been on chief scout Steve Hitchen’s radar even since that 4-0 aggregate victory in the Round of 16.
SportBILD (
via Sport Witness) claim Mourinho's side are “at the front of the queue” for his signature, but as with their other assets - Dayot Upamacano and Timo Werner before him - any negotiations are likely to wait until the summer.
7. Sami Khedira

Khedir played under Mourinho at Real Madrid and was an important player back in the 2011/12 season as they won the La Liga title with a record 100-point haul.
Now, he's 33 and is into the final year of his contract with Juventus but has been frozen out by Andrea Pirlo and may not make another appearance for the club.
According to
Calciomercato, Spurs are keen to take advantage of the situation and bring him in January.
6. Antonio Rudiger

The Chelsea centre-back reportedly wanted a loan move to Tottenham over the summer amid concerns over the fierce rivalry between the two clubs, and how difficult it would be to be welcomed back by the fans of his parent club.
Rudiger played more minutes for Germany than his club this season.
“He tried everything to leave Chelsea because the European Championship is very important to him,” Germany manager Joachim Low said.
“I think he’ll try to leave again in the winter.”
Football Insider report Tottenham may look to offer him more regular playing opportunities in January, but there is no suggestion that concrete interest remains.
5. Ozan Kabak

Schalke defender was reported to be on Tottenham’s radar over the summer, while AC Milan are believed to have had a bid turned down.
The recent report from
BILD suggests Schalke have been hit especially hard by the coronavirus pandemic and may look to cash-in on the 20-year-old Turkey international.
4. Demarai Gray

Leicester's winger made his only appearance this season in the League Cup, and his contract at the King Power expires next summer.
And according to journalist Duncan Castles (speaking on
The Transfer Window Podcast), the Foxes believe Spurs are set to make a move for the 24-year-old.
3. Jean-Philippe Mateta

Mainz striker has impressed so far this season, scoring 10 goals in 10 games for the Bundesliga club.
And as
Calciomercato claim Tottenham are willing to battle Napoli to bring the Frenchman to the club in January.
Mateta isn’t the only striker linked with Spurs, but Mourinho got his wish of a Harry Kane back-up in the summer in the form of Carlos Vinicius, who has featured prominently in the Europa League but racked up just 12 Premier League minutes.
2. Olivier Giroud

Chelsea striker's agent has made noises in the media about the potential of a move away in January ahead of next summer’s Euros.
Giroud was an important player for Chelsea in the latter half of last season, but he hasn’t played many minutes following the arrival of Timo Werner.
Calciomercato name Spurs as a potential mid-season destination, alongside West Ham, PSG, Inter Milan and Inter Miami.

The 28-year-old France international has established himself as one of the most highly-rated youngsters in Europe.
The Rennes midfielder recently admitted “the great clubs make me dream” and has no shortage of potential suitors, having played a key role for the Ligue 1 club last season as they qualified for the Champions League.
Spanish outlet
AS have reported that he’s at the top of Mourinho’s wishlist. However, as with Szoboszlai, the idea of Spurs beating off competition for a player rated at least £50million - if not considerably more - is fanciful.
