2021 was full of sporting events. After 2020 and the COVID19 outbreak most of the biggest sporting events were moved to 2021. This year we saw Copa America 2021, EURO 2020 as well as Tokyo Olympics and many other entertaining sports events.

It was a historic win as it was Medvedev's first major title. Meanwhile, Djokovic was aiming to become the second man in the Open Era to complete a calendar-year Grand Slam as well as he was attempting to win a record 21st major singles title which way he would surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
