Tim Cahill to make international comeback for Australia

Tim Cahill is making an international comeback for Australia. The 38-year-old legend announced his international retirement after the Socceroos were knocked out of the World Cup this summer. Australia’s all-time leading goalscorer will line-up for his country one more time in on November 20 against Lebanon to say goodbye to his adoring public in Sydney. Football Federation Australia broke the news today the star will have one more chapter to write in his storied career. And Cahill is over the moon, saying: “I am truly humbled to have the opportunity to take part in this farewell game. “I really appreciate the FFA and Arnie [Graham Arnold] giving me the chance to put on the Socceroos jersey on last time. “It’s going to be incredibly special to represent my country for the final time and I can’t wait to say thank you to all the fans who have supported me throughout my career.” Aussie boss Arnold added: “Even though that this is an important game in our preparation for the Asian Cup, giving Timmy and the public the opportunity to say goodbye is important to us. “Tim has made many sacrifices to play for his country and deserves a final bow in front of Australian fans in Australia.” Ex-Millwall and Everton midfielder Cahill returned to The Den last season for a short stint before joining Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC over the weekend.
