The reason why Chelsea's Hakim Ziyech left Morocco camp early ahead of Southampton clash

Chelsea are set to face Southampton on Saturday, October 17, as soon as Premier League returns from the international break. The Blues made number of signings this transfer window, including Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech. The latter is yet to make his debut, after picking up a knee injury during training with the club. The former Ajax man did go on international duty with Morocco, but has returned to Chelsea after just one substitute appearance for his country. He made his return to action for Morocco on Friday - coming off the bench for the final half-hour and setting up a goal in a 3-1 friendly win against Senegal in Rabat. That may have led some to believe he would not feature for the Blues next weekend, but that's not the case. According to sources from football.london, Ziyech's one substitute appearance for Morocco was pre-planned with the Blues and manager Frank Lampard. His departure was agreed before the Senegal game, so there is no suggestion of a fresh injury blow or recurrence of the previous issue. Source- HampshireLive Join us on Telegram
