Steven Gerrard set to bring 'Liverpool' staff and 'brains of the operation' to Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard has been appointed as Aston Villa's head coach today, and he's expected to bring 'Liverpool' staff and 'brains of the operation' to Villa with him. Former Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow is already the chief executive officer at Villa Park, and after the ex-Red's appointment, this range is surely going to get wider. Gary McAllister, who's a former teammate of Gerrard’s at Anfield (and also Villa assistant manager and caretaker manager in 2010/11); Tom Culshaw, who's Gerrard’s under-18s assistant manager at Liverpool; and Jordan Milsom, who's head of Fitness with Gerrard’s Liverpool Under-18 side, are all expected to make the move alongside the new boss. But one man the new boss will be extremely keen to join him is Michael Beale, another coach he worked with at both Liverpool and Rangers. And as ex-Rangers man Kyle Lafferty previously claimed, it was Beale and not Gerrard, who was ‘the brains’ behind his success over the last few years.
“No disrespect to Steven Gerrard who I think is an amazing manager, where he has taken the club from day one to now is night and day – he’s made Rangers a force again in the Premiership and Europe.   “But Michael Beale is behind the scenes and I think he’s the brains behind it. Tactically he’s amazing.”
