Steve Kerr makes LeBron James claim about Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has undoubtedly started this season superbly. The Golden State warriors' superstar has propelled himself as the frontrunner for this season’s Most Valuable Player award, overtaking the likes of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, leaving in the dust in terms of the early-season MVP race is none other than the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James hold some weight on Steph’s mind right now. Speaking to Damon and Ratto of 95.7 The Game, Kerr revealed how Curry has not lost one bit of his competitive spirit now that he’s on his 13th season in the NBA.
“When I say Steph is competitive on a lot of different levels, that’s kind of what I mean,” Kerr said (h/t Josh Schrock of NBC Sports).   “He finds ways to motivate himself and it’s not fake. It’s real. He wants to win a championship. He wants to beat the best teams. He wants to let other players in the league know that he’s still got it."
While Kerr also hinted at the fact that right now, Steph still has a huge LeBron-sized chip on his shoulder:
“He’s going to take on the challenge whether it’s LeBron [James] or one of the best players in the league, or a young guy like Trae who is up and coming and maybe following in Steph’s footsteps.   “All of that stuff factors in and is one of the reasons he is as great as he is. It goes so far beyond the skill. It’s the competitive desire and the belief in himself that he can follow through on that competitiveness.”
