Steve Bruce names Newcastle player that is a standout in training

Newcastle head coach Steve Bruce has revealed that team midfielder Matty Longstaff has been incredible in training since he was picked up by him. The 19-year-old Englishman is a Newcastle academy product and made his first league appearance in the recent 1-0 win over Manchester United and scored the only goal for the Magpies. According to Newcastle United’s official website, Bruce has praised Longstaff and when asked whether the youngster keeps his spot against Chelsea he replied: “How could I leave him out? Since I joined up with the squad in China he’s the one that constantly performed well in training and his enthusiasm for it is there for everyone to see.” The Magpies will face Chelsea in the frames of Premier League on Saturday.
