Spanish media: Eight clubs are in the race for Lionel Messi

  Lionel Messi could soon leave Barcelona. The club has confirmed that they received a burofax from the player, who has written about his intentions to leave.  According to the Spanish media outlet Diario Ole, eight clubs are monitoring Messi’s situation. Juventus, Milan, Inter, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG are interested in signing a contract with the 6-time Ballon d’Or winner.

As reported earlier, Messi wants to activate the clause so that he can terminate his contract with the club. However, the situation isn’t as easy as it seems.  Barcelona board of directors will have an extraordinary meeting, so that they can discuss the situation. Josep Bartomeu, the Catalan club president, reportedly insists that Messi should pay 700 mln euros, if he wants a contract termination, Guillem Balague reports.  The Argentinian international, meanwhile, has made it clear. He will leave the club, if Bartomeu stays. Legal action between the board and the player possible.
