Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has sent warning to Tottenham ahead of the FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday evening- suggesting that his side are just as hungry to book their place in the next round of the tournament.
Jose Mourinho has admitted ahead of the clash with the Saints that he sees the competition as a great chance to land some silverware and is keen on winning it for the second time in his career.
Speaking to
the Independent, Hasenhuttl said he expects Spurs to field a strong team but assured his opponents that his team were ready for a fight.
“Even if they (Tottenham) rotate they have so much quality in the squad,” he said.
“We’re expecting the best possible team from them.
“Also they are looking to get a trophy this season and it’s probably the best way for Tottenham to get one. They will do everything to get into the next round, but so will we.”
Jose Mourinho's side have a quite hard match against RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16, and the FA Cup most likely represents the club’s best opportunity of winning a trophy this season.
