Real Madrid will be crowned as La Liga champions, providing that they don’t lose at La Rosaleda on Sunday. Zinedine Zidane’s men were playing their postponed match against Celta Vigo yesterday evening, and the team has nothing to do but win by every means.
And who else, if not Cristiano Ronaldo will make a difference. The Portuguese striker had a significant impact on the outcome of the game yet again. After helping his team to overcome Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in the quarters and semis of the Champions League, the Balon d’Or winner put his mark on the Celta game, too.
It was in the 10th minute when Ronaldo broke the silence. Isco received the ball and cut inside, trying to find space. However, the defender tried to stop him and the rebounded ball reached Cristiano Ronaldo who didn’t hesitate to place the ball into the right corner, leaving no chance to Sergio Alvarez.
Celta Vigo did everything possible to come back into the game and give some hopes to Barcelona. The Catalan side had nothing to do but to watch this game and believe that Eduardo Berizzo’s men will manage to stop Real Madrid’s powerful attack and leave them empty-handed.
After the half time Ronaldo decided to decide the outcome of the game. Again, Isco started the attack with a great run from his own half of the pitch and passed the ball to Ronaldo who didn’t make a mistake. His left-footed shot went right into the bottom left corner.
Minutes later Iago Aspas was unfairly sent off, as the match official Juan Martinez Munuera thought he was trying to earn a penalty and dived. However, this decision made Celta push forward with doubled desire, and Jon Guidetti’s efforts paid off. His shot found Sergio Ramos’s foot and ended with a goal, as Keylor Navas couldn’t deal with the rebounded ball.
Celta’s happiness didn’t last too long, as just one minute later Karim Benzema recovered the two-goal difference. And finally, Toni Kroos put the cherry on the cake in the 88th minute, scoring his team’s fourth goal.
Real Madrid earn three vital points and keep on self-dependance. Now they should not lose against Malaga and win their 33rd La Liga title.
