Rodri reacts to his new Manchester City role after Pep Guardiola chat

Manchester City player Rodri has revealed he sees himself in central defence after playing there for helping to solve the club's injury problems. As Pep Guardiola's side lacks centre-backs this season, the club boss needed to make some positional changes to solve the defence problem. Summer signing Rodri has spent the first part of the season in the midfield. Later he was told to take a news role in defence, in spite of some criticism as the Citizens were 3 - 1 defeated to Liverpool in the last Premier League fixture. Speaking on the new position, Rodri said at a Spain press conference: "I am discovering myself as a player. Guardiola asked me how I see myself there and I decided to try because the team needed me. Obviously there is always a time of adaptation, but because of my physical and technical characteristics, I also think that there is something in common with my normal position, apart from certain new aspects. It is true that the new position is a bit more delicate, but with time I think I could perfectly adapt myself. My virtues make me shine more as central midfielder, but with time I could also do well as central defender."
