Rio Ferdinand’s six-man Manchester United wishlist for summer transfer window

Rio Ferdinand has named his six-man Manchester United wishlist for the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have not won the Premier League title since 2013, recently letting their rivals Manchester City and Liverpool lead the league seasons. This term United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has revealed about investing more money for summer transfers. And Ferdinand believes signing Jadon Sancho, Saul Niguez, Thomas Partey or Wilfred Ndidi, United could become a force once more. He said: "Every week this changes, but I'd definitely buy Sancho. Can you imagine Sancho in that team? He draws two or three players to him and Marcus Rashford's playing one versus one? Oh God, it's over. I would maybe go and get Partey from Atletico Madrid or Ndidi from Leicester and I like Saul Niguez, he's a very, very good player in midfield. And I do still think they need a centre-back. Whether you go for a young one, like Ben Godfrey, or go for someone like (Kalidou) Koulibaly, I don't know, it's difficult." Former United player has also urged to build the team around Marcus Rashford, considering him as one of the world's true greats for future. "Rashford can be up there with the best, 100 per cent, because he's got mad talent. From a kid, I've seen him play, whether it was up front or wide, or drifting about, he's always had mad talent and Manchester United have always known. It's whether you can translate that to being in the first-team and he's shown he can do that. He's just been unfortunate he's been in a team that's been in transition ever since he's been in the first-team. If he can get back to normal (following a broken back), he can get back to some consistency and they can start trying to get back to the heights of where Manchester United were at before. And then I think we'll see more from Marcus, because if I'm Manchester United I'm building it all around him," he added.
