REVEALED: Who will win the Ballon d'Or award

Lionel Messi is set to win a sixth Ballon d'Or award in Paris next week. The Barcelona superstar is one of the favourites to win football's biggest individual honour, alongside Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. Van Dijk was named as UEFA's men's player of the year in August, following his Champions League season, while Messi won the title of FIFA's "The Best" award a month later. According to Mundo Deportivo, France Football travelled to Barcelona to have an interview with Messi. The players' representatives would neither confirm nor deny the meeting. The claims also come from the fact, that Messi, being a part of an upcoming documentary OTRO, has posed with his five golden balls ahead of the next Monday's 64th annual Ballon d'Or.
