Mauricio Pochettino, who has emerged as Florentino Perez’s No 1 target to take over at the Santiago Bernabeu, has only two weeks to decide on his future. Following Real Madrid's miserable start to the season head coach Julen Lopetegui finally faced s sacking. Santiago Solari - who took his first training session at Valdebebas on Tuesday morning - was named as caretaker boss, but he can stay in the job for 14 days. If no replacement for Lopetegui is found in the 14-day period, Solari will no longer be able to stay on temporarily and Real Madrid will be forced to pay a fine. However, there’s a candidate to take the job – Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino. Representatives from the Bernabeu met with people close to Pochettino in London last week and gave promising reports to chairman Florentino Perez. But speaking ahead of the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday night, Pochettino admitted he was at his lowest point of his Spurs tenure. He said: "The season so far… it’s strange because my feeling is the worst feeling I’ve had in the five years that I’ve been here. "It’s the worst, my feeling.
