REVEALED: Liverpool are preparing a new deal with a new SALARY for Virgil van Dijk
Liverpool are planning to offer Virgil van Dijk a new £50-m contract, as reported by the Football Insider.
The Dutchman, who has joined the Merseyside club in January of 2018, is currently earning £125.000/week and club owners want to increase his salary to be confident in the future.
Van Dijk’s current deal will expire in 2023. Liverpool are preparing a £150.000/week salary offer, which could become a staggering £50 mln due to the bonuses the contract renewal will include.
Earlier this month there have been reports from Italian and British media that Juventus want to sign Van Dijk and could offer more than £150 mln to get the world's best center back.
However, the player himself has not once mentioned his intentions to stay at Anfield Road.
Meanwhile, Van Dijk and Liverpool are preparing for their first Premier League match after the winter break. Jurgen Klopp’s team will face Norwich City before travelling to Madrid to play against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of round of 16 in the Champions League play-offs.
