Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo admits "there were several errors" in Chelsea vs Barcelona in 2009 Champions League

Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo has admitted "there were several errors" during Chelsea's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona back in 2009. The game finished with a 1 - 1 draw, with Andres Iniesta scoring the equalizer and sending Catalan giants to the final due to away goals after a scoreless first tie at the Nou Camp. Ovrebo turned down four penalty appeals of Chelsea, causing an argument between Dani Alves and Florent Malouda in the penalty area. It resulted in a free-kick outside the box instead of a spot-kick.
And remembering the match day, the Norwegian official told Marca: "It was not my best day really. Some days you are not at the level you should be. I can't be proud of that performance.
There were several errors and everyone will have their opinion of those plays." They were handball situations. I judge them on the pitch and I think it is interesting to know what I think of those actions once judged, although I understand that people think different to the decisions I made at the time." After the final whistle, Chelsea players surrounded Ovrebo to argue for the referee's decisions. Didier Drogba and Jose Boswinga were banned by UEFA for their behaviour.
