The Reasons why Rafael Benitez will not beat Frank Lampard to Chelsea job as he leaves Newcastle

Rafael Benitez walked away from a £6million a year contract offer after he completely lost patience with Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley. It was announced on Monday that the Spaniard would be leaving the Tyneside club upon the expiration of his contract on June 30. Following the announcement, Benitez becomes the second favourite behind Frank Lampard, who is the favourite to success Maurizio Sarri. However, according to Football.London, Benitez likely to go somewhere where he will get the respect he deserves. While Roman Abramovich will be a fan after his successful short stint with the club, the supporters in west London may not be as welcoming. Back in 2012, the Blues won the Europa League with Benitez, but he still did not win over some sections of the Stamford Bridge support. Meanwhile, it has been reported that a generous offer is on the table from the Chinese Super League and reports have suggested he could earn up to £12million per year by making the move. While Benitez’s system is effective, it is not what Chelsea are targeting with their next appointment. Chelsea want someone who can play attractive, high-intensity football, but Benitez offers a much more pragmatic style of play.
