Reason why Liverpool gave up on Christian Pulisic

It has been reported today that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic has agreed to join Chelsea for £57.6m. Another Premier League club, Liverpool, was also interested in the player. According to Bleacher Report, Pulisic didn't snub the Reds, rather Liverpool eventually gave up on the midfielder. The publication reported that Jurgen Klopp believes Pulisic, who wouldn't come cheap, would struggle to get into his current Reds side at this moment.
