Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl refused to talks about Danny Ings’ contract situation amid Tottenham links.
The 28-year-old has just 12 months left in his contract with the Saints, with the player still refusing to sign a new deal.
Hasenhuttl stated two weeks ago that he was confident that the former Liverpool man will stay at the club. However, now being asked about the attacker contract situation, the manager told BT:
“It’s a topic which doesn’t make sense to discuss here, we are in negotiations with the player and there’s nothing more to say about that.
“Any rumours out there it’s not for me to comment on. It’s always coming from the same direction and it doesn’t make sense to comment.
“He is an important player for us, he wants to stay with us. It’s not a reason to speak about it in the media.”
