Ralf Rangnick could reportedly make RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara his first signing as Manchester United interim boss.
The German coach is very close to joining United on a six-month deal until the end of the season.
According to Daily Star, Rangnick may pinpoint Haidara as his first transfer target for the Red Devils, given their struggles in the midfield this season.
In 2019 Rangnick brought the Mali international to Leipzig for £17million, and he has since gone on to become a key player for the German club, scoring 10 goals in 95 games.
The upcoming United manager may decide he wants to reunite with Haidara, who publicly expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford in the past.
“I like Manchester United very much and watch as many games as possible. I dream of playing there," he told Bild in 2019.
