Liverpool are preparing for FIFA Club World Cup in December, which will take place in Qatar.
Ahead of the tournament, the Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Hassan Al Thawadi has spoken out on Mohamed Salah claiming that "it's a great moment for them" that Salah will participate.
“There's no doubt Mohamed Salah has a huge following and definitely it's a great moment for us that he's coming,” said Al Thawadi.
“He has a lot of fans over the Arab world, and Mohamed Salah coming here is making a lot of people very excited.
“A lot of people became Liverpool fans because of Mohamed Salah, and if they weren't their first team Liverpool became their second team because of Salah.
“It's important to point out, though, that we have never politicised a sporting event or a person.
“Everybody knows we own PSG, for example, and we've never utilised any of the players in that way.”
