Press Conference: Rodgers gives advice to James Justin, Chilwell and provides update on Denis Prayet

Leicester City are back in Premier League action on Tuesday, as they host Brighton to the King Power Stadium. City's season restarted at the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Watford. Ben Chilwell put the Foxes ahead in the 90th minute only for Watford defender Craig Dawson to equalise in added time. Ahead of the game against Brighton, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has faced the press to discuss the upcoming game. The boss gives his comments about encouraging Chilwell to score again. “He has the quality. We had a drinks break just before he had an opportunity to shoot. He has the talent to score more and I’ve been encouraging him to do that. It’s a great touch and the strike was sublime. It was a wonderful strike. Sometimes tactically in the game, he’s playing a different role, so he may not have the chance. But he’s got quality, great power, great technique," said the boss. Premier League changed the rule of substitutes and the clubs are now allowed to do five subs instead of three. On the use of substitutes, Rodgers said: "We have an idea as a staff and we sit down and analyse throughout the week. But it’s never 100 per cent, you have to analyse how the game and the flow of it. You can pick the wrong team, so you have to read situations in game. We try to anticipate what might happen in different scenarios, and then it’s about reading the game as it happens in front of you. It’s about the 11 players that finish the game. I didn’t feel in the game. If I could have, I would have used another sub, but because of the dynamics I couldn’t. But you also have to be careful. The players have shown the fitness. If we need to make the subs, we can, so that’s great, but I’m not going to make five just because I’ve got five." Rodgers has given his advice to James Justin. “Just to play his natural game. I thought he did very well. What will improve is his football, gaining that confidence of being in the team. He’s athletically very good. He’s a fantastic defender and he’s got plenty of improvement." Rodgers has been also asked about the next Premier League game against Manchester City. “We haven’t done too much different to what other clubs have done. We’ll decorate the stadium, and we’ll have the music before the game. Most have that fan interaction as well. The one thing you do miss is the noise, but we can’t worry about that for now. The club will generate the best environment they can so we can ensure we have a good game.” Jamie Vardy could reach the record of 100th Premier League goal, on the matter, Rodgers said: "You don’t get the chance to share the joy with supporters. But if he gets a goal whenever it comes, and it will come, he will celebrate it because it’s an incredible achievement. We hope there will be many more.” On Champions League race, Rodgers added: "It’s one where we know what our objective is. We’re going to give everything we can to finish there. We’ve proven that when we play well, in the main, we will win games. You always look ahead of you. We’re working on getting better." Rodgers has also commented on the competition between Ricardo Pereira and James Justin. “They’re both athletically very good. James is a very good defender, positionally very good. Ricky has played as a winger and he carries it so well. He’s one of the top full-backs at this level. James has got a lot of development at this level. He’s got a wonderful attitude. They are different." At the end of the conference, Rodgers has given an injury update: “Dennis Praet is back and available. Everyone else is fine." Source: Leicester Mercury
