Press Conference: Jose Mourinho hits back at Danny Rose, speaks about Klopp's deal and reveals January transfer plans

Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham side will play a crucial clash against Wolves, on Sunday. Tottenham are in the seventh place of the Premier League table with 23 points, while Wolves, who are sixth in the league have 24 points. A victory against Wolves will see Spurs to gain a place in the top six. Ahead of the game, Spurs boss Mourinho faced the press. Mourinho started his press conference with a speech on Jurgen Klopp new deal, which will keep him at Anfield until 2024: “First of all it means they are all happy. He’s happy, if not he doesn’t sign. They’re happy, if not they don’t give him a new contract. Great news obviously for Liverpool fans, for the players because it looks clear they like each other & their relationship is very good. And good news for the Premier League, we want the best players & coaches and he’s one of the best. Positive news.” The boss also spoke about the squad: “The players that didn’t travel are fine & we didn’t get any injuries. Harry Winks is the only player from the injury list that’s back. I don’t know back to play, but back to training with the team.” Tottenham have announced Ben Davis will travel to Qatar for treatment. “The thinking is the protocol that you have with Aspetar in Qatar. If a player is 1,2,3 months without training, playing, sometimes it’s nice to have a week where we can keep his treatment controlled by us but at the same time he can breathe a little bit, see the sun sometimes,” said Mourinho. Mourinho refused to speak about Danny Rose’s future at the club, as the player announced yesterday, he will leave the club after his contract expires: “18 months contract is a long time. He doesn’t finish his contract in June or July like some others, so plenty of time on his contract.” The Spurs boss also spoke about his January transfer plans. “I want to work. I’m going to have time to work, which until now I don’t have. I complain every day, the frustrating is I can’t do certain kind of training. It’s frustrating. I love pre-season to work. I don’t have. January we’re going to have a little bit and then week in February without Premier League. This is what I want. I want time,” he said. The game will take place on Sunday, December 15.
