Premier League rival sends 'quality' transfer message to Aston Villa

Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse declares that Saints are enjoying the challenge of facing Aston Villa this weekend. Ralph Hasenhüttl's side travel to Villa Park on Sunday looking for a third straight win against Villians at their own home. However, Dean Smith's squad won four of their first five Premier League games after their 100% record ended last weekend by Leeds United. Ward-Prowse has said that he expects a very different test against Villa to last season. “They [Villa] have made some real quality signings and ones that have definitely improved them as a squad, and I think it will be a very different test to what we had when we played them last season," Ward-Prowse said. “Of course, you have to respect the opponent and analyse their strengths and weaknesses, but we have got such belief in what we are doing here as a team that any opposition we play against, we feel confident in what we do. Of course, it will be a tough test, but it is a good test for all of us and one that we are looking forward to." Ward-Prowse played alongside Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings both in recent England squads, while Matt Targett came through the ranks at Southampton. And the Saints captain has been full of praise for them. “They are quality players and they have got the ability to win games and keep clean sheets," he said. “Matt [Targett] is a great lad, I had lots of good memories and times with him here. A new challenge came for him and he has gone there and worked hard and sustained himself in the Aston Villa team, and I am pleased to see him doing so well.”
