Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg makes "devastating" claim over Tottenham's trophy chase this season

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has talked about Tottenham's trophy chase this season and was quite emotional about it. Spurs have endured a tough season in North London, from the heights of leading the Premier League in December to the lows of being knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb. The Lilywhites have recently sacked manager Jose Mourinho, just days before the Carabao Cup final vs Manchester City. Under interim manager Ryan Mason, however, Spurs couldn't manage to beat City, as they took the trophy for the fourth time. Hojbjerg, speaking in this week’s matchday programme, gave an honest reaction to the cup final defeat. He said (Football London): “I’m devastated and frustrated. “I don’t want to say too much and start making statements or analysis on the final as I am still emotional about the result. This club needs trophies, simple.” Tottenham are currently sixth in the Premier League with 56 points, and upcoming, will play Leeds United on Saturday, May 8.
