Ousmane Dembele. The rising star

The start

Ousmane Dembele started his senior career at a native club Rennes, in 2015. He has played 2237 minutes throughout the year and has scored total of 13 goals and assisted 5 times.
He spent there just one season. With his amazing skills and goals, he got noticed by the Bundesliga side and soon, in 2016, joined Borussia Dortmund.

From Ligue 1 to Bundesliga

Dembele has spent one season in the Bundelsiga as well. The player has played overall 46 games 32 of which he played for Borussia Dortmund. He has scored 9 total of goals during the whole year and assisted 19 times.

Road to Barcelona

During the 2016 Euro Dembele was missed out of the squad. That year France went on reaching the final but lost to Portugal. Two years later, Dembele with France reached the final of the World Cup and was crowned as champions. In 2017 , when Barcelona sold Neymar Jr to PSG for a record breaking €222million fee, the club was in need of a new forward. The Spanish club saw Ousmane as the right replacement and soon he joined the club for €147million. Which made him to become second most expensive player after Neymar. Dembele has started 17 games for the Spanish club and scored 3 goals, assisted 6 times. Ousmane Dembele with Barcelona won La Liga and Copa del Rey during his first season.
This season Dembélé scored a total of 1 goal in 2 games so far for Barcelona, which places him at 2nd in the Barcelona squad's Top Scorers list.

Coincidence?

Debut seasons didn't work out that well for both Neymar and Dembele. Dembele, just like Neymar, got injured in the first year as a Barcelona player. They both got injured against Getafe. For Neymar, second year as a Barcelona player went on to be spectacular as the player along with the team won the treble. Second one for Catalan giants.
How will Dembele's second year be after all? Will he have the same success as the Brazilian superstar?

Right or Left

Ousmane Dembele once was asked if he is right footed or left footed? Well the right answer is:he doesn’t have a weak foot. The youngster has 12 goals and 17 assists with left foot and 17 goals 16 assists with his right foot.

Position

French superstar not only doesn’t have a weak foot but also can play and as a forward and as a midfielder. Barcelona head coach Valverde loves to make a lot of changes before or during the game. And sometimes you can see Dembele switch his position from a forward to a midfielder or vice versa. The future looks bright for Barcelona if they keep the youngster.
