Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals stance on his future and explains support for Paul Pogba

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has fumed at the 'lies' in the fallout from his side's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool. Paul Pogba posted on his social media accounts a report that he snubbed Solskjaer following the humbling was a 'big lie' and the official United Twitter account endorsed Pogba's post. In his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Tottenham on Saturday, Solskjaer said United players had 'gone into the trenches' in response to their fifth defeat in the last nine.
"Good, why shouldn't I be? I'm talking to you lot," Solskjaer replied when asked how he was.   "It's been a difficult week, of course, we've had to deal with the result and performance against Liverpool, which we know wasn't good enough and that's something that footballers have to deal with.   "That's why we're in this game, you have to look forward to the next game, make sure you're ready for that game and when you get to that next game sort out what has been challenging and the problems earlier on.   "We've had a good week, a good week on the training field, I have to say that.   "We need a reaction and it's my job as well to put the players in the right frame of mind, I'm responsible for the reaction, the result, the performance. We've worked on the pitch, we've worked on everything that needs to be sorted for a footballer.   "It's not just frame of mind, it's the approach, strategy, gameplan, tactics, technically, we've had a good week and I feel the boys are ready to give their best, as they always do. Of course, nothing went to plan (against Liverpool) and that was nowhere near our best.   "I'm as focused as ever. I've had players come up to me. As an example, when Paul came up to me, angry, we expect to be criticised, because hands up, the performance wasn't good enough, you hear about it from right, left and centre.   "We can't accept when lies are made up. Paul told me what he put up out on his social media account. We're better than that, as a group, the culture is better here, the environment is better, when it's blatant lies they've got to stand up and say so. Opinions and reports, fine, but don't make up lies about me.   "The players come in, proper professionals, come in, good people. As I said, we have the environment in and around the place, we have loads of respect for each other.   "When you come in for criticism like you do you come into the trenches with your teammates, and that reaction I've seen this week. Whatever this club has been through before, it's about getting through with courage, self-belief, sticking together and this group has done."
