Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reacts to United victory and Anthony Elanga performance, while Ferdinand gives contract verdict on Juan Mata

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has joked it was 'about time' after Manchester United finished the season without losing a league match away from home, they beat Wolves in their last game of the season. United became just the fourth club in English top-flight history, after Preston (1888-89), Arsenal (2001-02) and Arsenal again (2003-04), to remain unbeaten away from home across an entire campaign. "It was about time we did! We haven't done it before, so what an achievement by all the players, they have been excellent," Solskjaer told MUTV. " I knew that we did put this record on the line by making all the changes, but we had to. One because we believed in these players, and two because the other players have played so much this season and needed an energy boost for Wednesday." Meanwhile, Solskjaer has told Anthony Elanga his future at Manchester United is bright after he scored his first goal for the club against Wolves. “I think what you maybe don’t see is his attitude and desire and his personality, he’s a lad who wants to learn, he’s very humble and works really hard," he said. "He’s got some attributes you wish for as a player, that pace, directness, he’s right-footed, but he’s equally as good on his left. I’ve not seen him score headers like this so that was a big bonus as well. The future is bright for him and I know I can trust him to keep his feet on the ground and make the most of his talent." Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United could extend Juan Mata's contract due to his influence in the dressing room. The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season. "I expect he might be somewhere with a warmer climate, warmer weathers," he told BT Sport. "I think he's earned the right to have a choice if he wants to go somewhere he can relax and enjoy his football. "You never know, they could extend his contract here. He's got a great calming influence within that dressing room and there will be young players looking at him who watch him on a day-to-day basis. He's a great trainer, always brings quality and he applies himself correctly."
