OFFICIAL: Andre Schurrle is retiring from football aged just 29

World Cup winner Andre Schurrle is retiring from football aged just 29, the player announced on Instagram. The player spent his career at Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Mainz 05, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Spartak Moscow and Fulham. The 2014 World Cup winner cancelled his contract at Borussia Dortmund earlier this week following a loan spell at Spartak Moscow. In a revealing interview with Der Spiegel, Schurrle announced that: "The decision has matured in me for a long time." He added: "You always have to play a certain role in order to survive in the business, otherwise you will lose your job and you will not get a new one."
