"No way": Paul Merson says "brilliant" Liverpool player has proved him wrong

Paul Merson has shared his praise for Diogo Jota after the attacker's display for Liverpool against Southampton. The Reds beat the Premier League rivals 4 - 0 on Saturday, with Jota scoring a double for his side. Being impressed by the former Wolves star's performance, Merson has claimed that he didn't expect Jota to be a regular player in Jurgen Klopp's team when he made a move to Anfield back in the summer of 2020. “When he went there, I liked him, I thought he was a good player at Wolves, I thought there is no way he is playing in this team. No way with Firmino,” the pundit said about Jota on Sky Sports New. “When he (Firmino) doesn’t play, Jota plays and he has literally settled quicker than snow, if I am being honest. He has been absolutely brilliant, and he has just carried that on.”
