"There is no crisis at Tottenham" claims Dele Alli, after 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade
Dele Alli says there is no crisis at Tottenham and the players have “100 percent trust” in Mauricio Pochettino after Spurs 5-0 win in the Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade.
Despite poor start to the season, Pochettino’s squad managed to win Tuesday’s clash with having shown one of their best team performances so far.
“A lot of us would not be where we are now if it was not for him (Pochettino),” said Alli in the post-match interview.
”All we can do is thank him. We have always trusted him 100 per cent and we are going to keep doing that. We are a team. Since we have been together here we probably have not been through this situation. It is a new experience for a lot of us, that is probably why the reaction has been what it has. We know we have hit a dip but no one in our team is panicking with the results and the form. We know how good we are and the quality we have got in this team. It was an important win for us but we know it is just the start.”
Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son scored twice and Erik Lamela completed the rout giving their team some confidence ahead of Premier League clash with table leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
After Tuesday’s win Tottenham are in the 2nd position in Group B with 4 points, conceding Bayern Munich who leads the group with maximum 9 points.
