Nick Kyrgios moved to within one win of a potential clash with Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open.
Kyrgios booked his place in the third round of the tournament with a 6-2 6-4 4-6 7-5 win over Gilles Simon.
"I am not thinking ahead," Kyrgios said when asked about his future opponents
. "There is a lot of great players in the draw."
Kyrgios will take on either Karen Khachanov or Mikael Ymer on Friday.
"It's epic. You guys are awesome that's why I usually request playing on here as often as I can," Kyrgios added. "You guys always get behind me on here, I love it. I'll request playing here all the time but I'm not sure if the tournament will let me.
"I definitely lost my way a little bit [in the third set]. He is a tough competitor and knows how to win matches. I could have gone into a very dark place in the fourth set but I somehow pulled it away. It was a tough match and I am very happy to get through. It would have been very interesting if it went to a fifth set."
