Ndidi, Soyuncu, Castagne, Ricardo – Leicester City injury latest and return dates

Leicester City three Ricardo Pereira, Caglar Soyuncu and Wilfred Ndidi are set to return from injury in this week’s Europa League clash vs  Zorya Luhansk, as Brendan Rodgers has confirmed. For Ricardo, the match will be his first senior competitive match in nearly nine months since damaging his cruciate ligament in a 4-0 win over Aston Villa in March. In the meantime,  Ndidi and Soyuncu have been ruled out with adductor tears since September and October respectively. The trio have been in training for a few weeks, while Ricardo eased his way back in with a run-out for the Foxes' Under-23s last Monday, a 2-1 win over West Ham. Rodgers said after the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, and ahead of the trip to Ukraine: “We’re hopeful that Ricardo will play, Wilf will play, and we’re hopeful Cags can play as well, so that will be a huge boost for us, these guys coming back. “It will really help us. They’re top players.” However, Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey are still sidelined. Castagne is still having trouble with his hamstring after a recurrence of the injury that kept him out of the four games before the international break. He had trained ahead of the trip to Liverpool but the pain returned, and he has now missed a further three matches. Amartey suffered a serious hamstring injury in the defeat to West Ham in October and he is yet to return to training, with no date indicated for his return.
