NBA Insider makes exciting prediction over Stephen Curry next season

NBC Sports NBA Insider Tom Haberstroh has predicted that Stephen Curry will win NBA scoring title next season. Golden State Warriors' point guard previously has led the NBA in scoring once, five years ago when he became the first unanimous MVP in league history while averaging 30.1 points per game for a record-breaking 73-win team. Limited to only five games in 2019-20 due to a broken hand, Curry averaged 27.3 points in his last full season of action, which would have been good for ninth in the league this season. Three players averaged more than 30 points per game: James Harden, Bradley Beal and Damian Lillard. Despite all those reasons to think Curry has a tough road ahead to reach that title again, Haberstroh stands firm in his prediction. "I think Stephen Curry is going to win the scoring title next year," Haberstroh told NBC Sports Bay Area. "They are going to need him to score a ton of baskets next year. I don't know if they are going to have the defense to win 60 games, but I think they are going to try to outscore everybody next year, because I think are gonna be so offensively focused, because they lose Andre Iguodala from that team, they lose Shaun Livingston, they lose a lot of their big men over the years that really helped them be a top-five defense. "I just think this guy is going to come out with such motivation, to see what everyone else did when he didn't play last year essentially, I think Stephen Curry is going to put up 30 a game, and he's going to be right up there with James Harden, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokoumnpo and Luka Doncic for the scoring title."
