Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal fans that Charlie Patino's senior start “will happen”.
Gunners picked up an impressive
3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon yesterday night, with Alexandre Lacazette, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah all marking their names on the scoresheet.
Fans were hoping Patino would be involved, but he didn’t even make the matchday squad.
Arteta admitted after the victory over the Dons that “some players needed some minutes”.
"He was very close,” said Gunners boss.
"In the end we decided that some players needed some minutes – it will happen in time.
“Charlie’s been good. He played a practice match at Colney and he was really good.
“Again, give him time and we will prepare him.”
