Mikel Arteta has made a bold claim on Alexandre Lacazette amid his away links from Arsenal.
The 30-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from both Juventus and AC Milan, as his contract at north London expires next summer.
However, in Wednesday’s game – 3-0 win over Wimbledon, Lacazette was the captain of the team and also marked his name on the scoresheet to help his team secure a perfect win.
After the game head coach Arteta said of his striker:
“Yes, he was captain because he’s one of our leaders and senior players.
“We haven’t been able to play him a lot. Last week we wanted to play him, but we had some injuries through the game and we cannot use him, but today he scored a goal and he worked hard again.”
Gunners’ next match is set to take place this Sunday, against Tottenham in a north London derby.
