Max Verstappen explains his relationship with Lewis Hamilton away from F1 rivalry

Max Verstappen has talked about his relationship with Lewis Hamilton, after they collided at the British Grand Prix, admitting he doesn't get 'intimidated' during his job. The Dutchman collided with the seven-time world champion on the opening lap of the race at Silverstone, spearing into the tyre barrier at around 180mph, suffering a huge impact. Verstappen climbed out of the car unaided, however was transferred to a local hospital during the race for further checks. Meanwhile, Hamilton incurred a ten-second time penalty for causing a collision but performed a stunning comeback to win the race in front of his home crowds. And Verstappen says he lives his life very differently from his main title rival.
“I wouldn’t hang out with celebs just for my profile,” he said.   “With some well-known people you can strike a good connection and build up a friendship, but I would only meet those I think are friends.   “I won’t call them mates when they are not mates, but just famous people. I want to spend time with family and real friends.   “I don’t spend too much time checking my Twitter or Instagram accounts to see how many followers I have or worry about how many ‘likes’ my posts get. I am not interested in that.   “If I am in Holland, which is not often, I mostly stay in the house, again with family and friends.”
