Max Kellerman explains why Steph is better player than James Harden

ESPN's latest debate was about deciding who’s better; Steph Curry or James Harden?  Harden ended up 6th in ESPN’s best players list, while Steph is 5th. Max Kellerman is sure Steph Curry is a better player than James Harden. He believes what makes Harden look like an all time great is the system he plays at the Rockets.  Kellerman said during ESPN’s First Take: “Steph Curry, it’s an easy answer. Forget about choking in the playoffs and Harden has a history and Steph too, it came around in the last post-season. But he was part of a colossal choke. Zero points in the greatest half court offense conducted by Steph in the last five minutes of the 4th quarter in a game 7 at home to try get a 73-win team to a championship. That was bad by Steph.”  “Harden has had moments like that too and more of them in the play-offs. Look, Mike D'Antoni can make a nice player like Jeremy Lin to look like an all-star, a great player like Steve Nash look like an MVP and a legit great player like James Harden look like an all-time great. In D’Antoni’s system James Harden is putting up Steph Curry numbers. He’s leading the league in scoring, but there’s no higher usage rate than the primary ball handler in the D'Antoni system.  “Harden is a terrific player, but he isn’t Steph Curry. Could you imagine if Steph Curry ran the D’Antoni system? Steph is just a more accurate shooter than James Harden. Steph’s one of the best handlers you’ve ever seen. He’s the greatest shooter of all time. And that is a deadly combination. Then you add in the fact the kind of culture that he helps to create. The fact that he gets all these points and does all that with the ball not sticking with him. Unlike James Harden.  “I’m not talking about assists, I’m talking about moving the ball. Steph is just better. So if Steph had the usage rate for a coach like D’Antoni, we wouldn’t even be arguing this. As it is, we apparently have to. Of course Steph is better than James Harden.” he added.
