Matthijs de Ligt could leave Ajax for a big-money move to Barcelona

Ajax’s director of football Marc Overmars has claimed that Matthijs de Ligt could move to Barcelona in the summer. Overmars has strong links with Barca after playing for them between 2000 and 2004, but he insists that a deal to take De Ligt to the Nou Camp has not been done. "I love Barcelona but I do not know what he (De Ligt) will do," Overmars told TV3. The Holland international has also attracted attention from Manchester City, PSG and Juventus ahead of the summer, when he is expected to move on for over £50million. Ajax showed masterclass in Champions League round of 16 second leg by beating the ongoing champions Real Madrid 1-4.
