EXCLUSIVE: Markku Kanerva on group opponents: I’m sure we are going to take points from each other

Finland National team head coach Markku Kanerva has spoken out on his team’s performance against Armenia during Euro - 2020 Qualifiers in Yerevan. When asked about team’s performance, Kanerva said: “It could be better. We made too many, so called, unforced errors. Sometimes we lost the ball too easily when we had it, that’s why Armenia were able to counter-attack and they had couple of dangerous chances. I’m quite satisfied with the defense, especially how players worked hard, they were ready mentally. "We scored two goals and had couple of other chances. So I’m very satisfied for the win after the game against Italy. This was a tough challenge for us.” With having 3 points after 2 matches, Finland will face Bosnia and Herzegovina at home in match-day #3. “They have Pjanic, Dzeko. It’s going to be a huge challenge for us, but I believe, if we play at our best level, we can get some points.” Kanerva added. “Bosnia and Herzegovina is a tough team. We are in a hard group, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Italy. Of course, maybe Italy are favourites, but there are going to be tough matches, and I’m sure we are going to take points from each other.” he concluded.
