Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Liverpool vs Southampton

  Liverpool will host Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday. The Reds are currently targetting a top-four spot as they are 7th in the league table, while the Saints are 16th with 37 points. Ahead of the game, BBC football expert Mark Lawrenson has stated his prediction. "I'm backing Liverpool to beat a Southampton team that is missing striker Danny Ings and does not have much to play for. "But, even if they do take the three points on Saturday, it is going to be real struggle for Jurgen Klopp's side to finish fourth now. "Firstly, Liverpool are relying on the teams above them to slip up, which I can't really see happening, but more importantly they are not playing well enough to go on the kind of run they need to make up ground."
